it Tigers lead the playoff series 2-0 against the Oakland Athletics.
The ball club travels to California this week in hopes of wrapping up the series. The series is played on a best of five basis.
Explosive offense, and superb pitching from both sides ensured an exciting afternoon. A late-inning double from Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera brought more than 40,000 fans to their feet in a roar of excitement.
Sunday’s win required efforts from the entire team. Late in the game, Jim Leyland substituted five players. The game winning sacrifice fly came from one of these subs, Don Kelly.
If the tigers wrap things up tomorrow night, they will have a several day rest until thier next opponent shows themselves. Is a long rest in the post season good or bad for the club?

Be sure to check out the Detroit Tigers tonight at 8:10pm as they take on Kansas City. With a win tonight, the tigers will clinch a spot in the post season. A couple of hits and a home run from Cabrera would also be a nice security blanket in securing the triple crown. What are your thoughts on MIggy potentially winning the Triple Crown, but not the MVP award?
